Screen Testing Consent

Screening testing identifies infected people, including those with or without symptoms (or before the development of symptoms) who may be contagious, so that measures can be taken to prevent further transmission. If you are interested in opting for your child to participate in this opportunity, please click HERE to electronically sign the opt-in waiver (one form per child). Testing will begin the week students come back (the first day of student attendance is August 25).

In K-12 schools, screening testing can help promptly identify and isolate cases, quarantine those who may have been exposed to COVID-19 and are not fully vaccinated, and identify clusters to reduce the risk to in-person education. The benefits it will bring us are:

  1. Continues to shield and protect those that are unvaccinated in school and at home.

  2. Testing allows schools to rule out Covid and keep students in the classroom.

  3. Early identification minimizes the number of individuals required to quarantine.

  4. Identifies potentially more contagious individuals earlier (results no later than 24 hours after the screening test).

  5. There may be shortened quarantine time for those participating in the screen test.
